Let it be that great strong land of love
Where never kings connive nor tyrants scheme
That any man be crushed by one above.

Is Australia The Land Of Opportunity For Migrants? - Forbes
The American West was also seen as a land of opportunity for miners due to the gold and silver rush in the far west which they believed would make them rich....
What does Land of Opportunity mean? definition, …
“My country owes me nothing. It gave me, as it gives every boy and girl, a chance. It gave me schooling, independence of action, opportunity for service and honor. In no other land could a boy from a country village, without inheritance or influential friends, look forward with unbounded hope.” -Herbert Hoover In this quote the 31st president of the United States, Herbert Hoover, talks about how in no other country in the world can you start from nothing and become something great. I believe that America really is the land of opportunity; if you love something and work hard you can achieve anything. America is the only place where race, religion, or family connections does not matter.
What does Land of Opportunity mean
Another example of America being the land of opportunity, which is a little less glamorous, is the story of my family. Both of my parents are immigrants from Venezuela. Neither of my parents families had any money, so my parents paid for their own wedding. They managed to do well in school and got a scholarship to go to the University of Florida. Almost immediately after I was born, my parents and me moved to New York. In New York we lived in an apartment the size of a closet. Both of my parents worked even with a year old kid, their combined salaries were just a few hundred dollars over when we would receive welfare. As time has gone by my parents have been willing to move and change their occupations. My parents have grabbed and made full use of every opportunity that has come their way. We’ve moved from New York to Miami to Chicago. Now I find myself living in a two-story house, in a great community, going to one of the best schools in the country. My parents have traveled a long way from Venezuela and are now living the American dream.
America, Land of Opportunity - Blackhatonomics - …
Out of the rack and ruin of our gangster death,
The rape and rot of graft, and stealth, and lies,
We, the people, must redeem
The land, the mines, the plants, the rivers.
The mountains and the endless plain
All, all the stretch of these great green states
And make America again!
America the Land of Opportunity « Alejandro | This I …
Sure, call me any ugly name you choose
The steel of freedom does not stain.
From those who live like leeches on the people's lives,
We must take back our land again,
To Ray Davies, America Is Still A Land Of Opportunity - NPR
Orange Mound was named after the Osage orange shrubs that lined the grounds of the Deadrick Plantation, from which the lands that formed the community were deeded in 1870. The land was purchased by Izey Eugene Meacham, who in turn sold plots to local African Americans.
Is America Still a Land of Opportunity? - The Daily Signal
Yet I'm the one who dreamt our basic dream
In the Old World while still a serf of kings,
Who dreamt a dream so strong, so brave, so true,
That even yet its mighty daring sings
In every brick and stone, in every furrow turned
That's made America the land it has become.
O, I'm the man who sailed those early seas
In search of what I meant to be my home
For I'm the one who left dark Ireland's shore,
And Poland's plain, and England's grassy lea,
And torn from Black Africa's strand I came
To build a "homeland of the free."The free?
How America Stopped Being The Land Of Opportunity …
(It never was America to me.)O, let my land be a land where Liberty
Is crowned with no false patriotic wreath,
But opportunity is real, and life is free,
Equality is in the air we breathe.
