My daughter turns 19 next week. I have been lucky enough to spend lots of time with her. More than dates, I made her a part of most aspects of my life. She went to school with me as I finished my bachelor's and graduate degrees. She went to court with me since she was old enough to understand she needed to rise when the judge came out and keep quiet. Then we would go to lunch to a cool place and talk about what she had seen. She even gave me her opinion on the judge's control of the courtroom and the case. I also taught her how to wash a car when she was 10 and how to drive a boat when she was 12. I love baking and cooking, but never could get her in the kitchen. However, we did complete a triathlon last week. My approach is to know her well and figure out what you both like.
